YES, Inc. Services
YES, Inc. provides asbestos inspections, lead-based paint inspections, mold investigations and other industrial hygiene inspections in homes, commercial buildings, schools and on military bases in California. Our inspections and consultations are thorough and conducted safely, ensuring building materials sampled but which remain after the survey is completed are intact and do not pose hazards for occupants. Our surveys include interviews with the building owner, architects and anyone else who may have valuable insight related to upcoming projects. Following the interviews, YES, Inc. will provide a cost proposal and a description of services included (and excluded). The survey report will include diagrams of the building/structure inspected, all chains of custody, laboratory reports, staff and laboratory certifications and an interpretation of the results.
By now most consumers are well aware of the hazards of asbestos. Before anyone can properly undertake an asbestos abatement program (safely removing it from pipes, duct work, walls, and ceilings) they must first have the structure inspected.
An inspection is a surface-by-surface investigation to determine whether there is lead-based paint in a home or child-occupied facility, and where it is located. Inspections can be legally performed only by certified inspectors or risk assessors.
It only takes a small water leak, or even excess humidity, for mold to form in your home or business. Mold can produce allergens and irritants, and it has the potential to cause other health effects. We can inspect and assess your property and remove your mold infestation.
YES, Inc. assists the building owner by developing a project-specific scope of work to supply to abatement and remediation contractors during the bidding process. A project- specific scope of work aids in receiving bids from contractors who understand exactly the work they are being hired to conduct. YES, Inc. consults with building owners following the receipt of bids to help determine whether the bids received are acceptable. Building owners must understand: Contractors bid the work to be performed safely and legally, but without oversight during their work are mainly concerned about making a profit. Many times, this includes the contractor cutting corners to speed up the process. Contractors know regulatory agencies are overworked and understaffed, which can prevent regular site visits by agency staff. Most regulatory agency site visits during projects are the result of a complaint, which forces the agency to investigate the complaint. Monitoring by a consultant such as YES, Inc. helps ensure these types of site visits do not result in a citation for illegal work practices being performed. At the conclusion of a project, YES, Inc. provides the building owner with all the original documentation required for record-keeping up to 30 years.
